Abstract:

The work presented is the result of a final degree project of a student of the Faculty of Engineering. It was developed in the Energy unit of Deustotech with the help of The School of Energy Systems of the Lappenranta University of Technology (Finland). It is the application of Artificial Neural Networks to model a recovery biomass boiler from the Joutseno paper mill (Finland). The cross-validation technique were used to train the neural model, and the validation phase was carried out with new data, which have never been known or seen during the training procedure. This work could be the basis of a future development using Artificial Neural Networks, in order to control and minimise the impact of the air emissions produced by the industrial plant.
