Abstract:

This paper presents the first results of a research work that develops a Water 4.0 solution for the digitalization of urban drainage networks. It develops a set of facilitating tools over the well known, internationally used, SWMM software. The new platform integrates five compatible modules for easily handling information about the catchment area, elevation model, land use, and network topology. A first application example over the Alza catchment area (San Sebastian, Spain) has shown the suitability of the platform in detecting and correcting data inconsistencies, and building a flexible and standard database model for overflow predictions or long term planning.
